Nicolas was hired as the Seed Bank Project Coordinator in 2022. He managed all production activities for the Society, including the annual plant sale and Seedy Saturdays. He also recruited and supervised volunteers, visited and communicated with Home Growers, and maintained the College gardens and greenhouses. His management skills and teaching ability were exceptional. Having a Bachelor's degree of Applied Science in Sustainable Agriculture, Nic's knowledge and passion for environmental non-profits was a huge asset in leading the "Growing Food in a Changing Climate” project in 2022. In 2023, he coordinated a follow-up project until the end of his position.

Pat Huet was one of the founding members of the Seed Bank, which began in 2012. After the Creston Community Seed Bank Society was incorporated in 2020, she served as the Board Secretary until early 2024, but her contribution was so much more. Although her Master’s degree in Biology was unrelated to seed saving, she always had a love of gardening. She poured her love and energy into transforming the fledgling entity into the one we know today. Pat designed and managed several projects, including “Heat Tolerance in Vegetable Crops” in 2023. She dedicated an enormous amount of time building systems and processes where none existed, much of which continues to define our current operations. Although officially retired from her Board position, Pat continues to act as an advisor for the Board and our Home Growers.
